Daily Walk: Make Your Life an Offering

Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. To take a high road that is less traveled and often ridiculed. To live a life of purity, honesty, faithfulness and humility. These are not characteristics that are idolized by our society today. One of the things that absolutely drove men crazy about Jesus was His Holiness, His separation from the world. Jesus lived a life of righteousness that has never been equaled by any other human being. He had to. If Jesus had sinned even a single time, He would have been disqualified from being the perfect sacrifice that we all needed.

Bible Study: Titus 1

Not very much is known to us, concerning Titus. He was a companion of Paul, a travelling companion, but interestingly enough, he is not mentioned in the Book of Acts. He was the one who took the second letter to the Corinthians, a very strong letter from Paul. And it was delivered by Titus to the Corinthians. He also was the one that Paul sent ahead to Corinth to collect an offering for the church in Jerusalem. He had charge of that. Now, as Paul writes to him, he is on the island of Crete. Now Crete was the first missionary outreach of the church. Those in the church in Antioch were in prayer. The Holy Spirit spoke and said, separate Paul and Barnabas for the ministry where I have called them. And they prayed and fasted and laid hands on them. And the Spirit sent them forth. They went first to the island of Crete. And that was the first offshore missionary venture of the churchPaul and Barnabas going unto Crete.

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)This verse is one of the most practical we will ever encounter in the Bible. Every one of us faces needs in our lives; at times, they are beyond our own means. Those are not the times to become anxious or to panic. Nor should we give up in defeat. It is at these times that God wants to draw from His unlimited storehouse to meet our need as only He can.

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh. (Hebrews 10:19-20)Our generation lacks a sense of wonder and reverence toward God. We want to bring God down to our level, to the commonplace. He is God! Though we have direct access to Him as His children, we ought never to forget that this access was purchased with the precious blood of His only Son. No one who truly understands this ever enters God’s presence without a sense of holy awe. No one who comprehends the incredible price paid at Calvary ever takes his relationship with God for granted.

Bible Study: Titus 2

In chapter one, verse ten, Paul said there were many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, whose mouths must be stopped because they subvert whole houses, teaching things that they ought not be teaching for filthy lucres sakes. Their teaching is not only wrong, their motives are wrong. In contrast to these false teachers who are teaching for filthy lucres sake, he begins chapter two with the words, But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: There are these other teachers that are teaching fallacies, but you, Titus, teach the things which become sound doctrine. Now in writing to Timothy, Paul said, there will come a time when men will not endure sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will pile up to themselves teachers, who will say the things that are entertaining or say the things that the people are wanting to be said.

The 365 Prophecies Jesus Fulfilled: Prophecy 11

In order for the Lord to fulfill His word to Abraham, it was going to take some time. God does not often complete His work in us speedily. It usually requires many years for the Lord to work on us and in us, before He accomplishes His purpose for us.This is not because the Lord cannot move quickly, but because of the frailty of man. God is always ready to move in us, it is we who must go through a long process of learning before the Lord can do what He is planning. In Genesis chapter 20, Abraham arrives in Egypt out of fear. A famine has developed around the world that causes Abraham to worry that he will not be able to find food for his family while on the journey to the land that God had promised him.Instead of trusting in the Lord, Abraham goes to Egypt where he learns that grain can be found. Upon his arrival, Abraham instructs Sarah to say to Abimelech, the king of Egypt, that Sarah is his sister. The kings of Egypt were known to take a woman of beauty from her husband and have her husband executed. In fear of his life, Abraham allows his wife to lie for him.
