Devotional: March 11

'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.' (Jeremiah 33:3)Too often we settle for much less than what God wants to do through us. We read in Jeremiah 32:27: “I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for Me?” and we answer, “No Lord.” Yet, when we face difficult situations we begin to qualify our belief in God and lower our expectations of what God will do. It is one thing to believe God could perform a miracle in the Bible, or a thousand years ago, or even in the life of a friend; it is quite another matter to wholeheartedly believe God can do anything He chooses to do in our lives!

Bible Study: Philemon

Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, Notice, he doesnt say, Paul, a prisoner of the Roman Government. He is a prisoner of Jesus Christ! It is his love for Jesus that has placed him in bond, his witness and testimony for Jesus. So he doesnt consider himself a prisoner of Rome or the Roman government, but he is a prisoner of Jesus Christ. It makes a big difference in how you look at it. You know, if you think, well, Im a prisoner of the Roman government, then you can sit there and sulk in your cell. But if you are a prisoner of Jesus Christ, what can you do, but rejoice? Im a prisoner of our Lord Jesus Christ. Im bound by Him!and Timothy our brother, So Paul includes Timothy, his young son in the faith, who at this moment was in Rome with Paul. Paul is writing from his prison in Rome. Timothy will later go to Ephesus and Paul will write his letter to Timothy in Ephesus. But at this time he is still there in Rome.

America and the Prophecies of the Last Days

There has been a pattern developing over the course of the past few years that indicates that events around the world are centered on the United States.Uprising in Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Tunisia, Jordan, Libya, with more to come. Global spikes in oil prices. Attacks on Americans in Germany, off the coast of Somalia, across Europe, the Philippines and Asia. All these events have one overwhelming target: America and Americans. Is it just a coincidence that all of the global uprisings and conflicts seem to be centered on the United States? A hatred by the people in these nations for regimes that our government gave billions of dollars to support, who have cruel and oppressive dictators as their leaders. Some who study Bible prophecy indicate that the United States' unwillingness to return to God and the elimination of God from our schools, government and families has caused the Lord to begin to do in America, what He has done in Israel.

Bible Study: Titus 3

Titus, chapter three. Now in chapter two, Paul has instructed Titus to teach the things, which become sound doctrine. Teach the older men. Teach the older women. Teach the young women and teach the young men. So he is telling him the various things that he should teach to the special age and sex groups. But then, sort of putting them altogether in chapter three, he said:Put them And the them would include the whole groupyoung men, old men, young women, older women.Teach or put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, Three things, subject to the principalities and powers, and then, obeying magistrates, and third, be ready to every good work.

"And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. "So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. (Deuteronomy 8:2-3)God allows us to suffer difficulties and hardships for a purpose. God led the children of Israel to wander through the wilderness for forty years in order to humble them and test them. When they refused to obey Him and enter the Promised Land, the Israelites revealed that they did not really know Him. If they had, they would have had more faith. God spent the next forty years testing the hearts of His people to see if they were prepared for His next assignment.

Daily Walk: The Correct Use of Anger

James 1:19-20 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.Is the exercise of anger always a sin? Is there ever a time when a person can justifiably be angry? The emotion of anger is a little known and seldom understood gift from God. Yes, you read that correctly; anger is a gift from God. Under the right circumstances, and for the correct reason, anger should be expressed and is justifiable.Under most situations, we use our anger incorrectly and at the wrong moments of life. It is an area of struggle for every one of us. Under most circumstances, we should follow James' admonishment to be quick to listen to people, slow to speak ourselves, and even more slow to express anger.

Bible Study: Titus 2

In chapter one, verse ten, Paul said there were many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, whose mouths must be stopped because they subvert whole houses, teaching things that they ought not be teaching for filthy lucres sakes. Their teaching is not only wrong, their motives are wrong. In contrast to these false teachers who are teaching for filthy lucres sake, he begins chapter two with the words, But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: There are these other teachers that are teaching fallacies, but you, Titus, teach the things which become sound doctrine. Now in writing to Timothy, Paul said, there will come a time when men will not endure sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will pile up to themselves teachers, who will say the things that are entertaining or say the things that the people are wanting to be said.
