Ephesians 2:5-10 "...even when we were dead in trespasses, He made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."Today as you go about the daily tasks of your life, remember that everything that needed to be done, everything that could be done, has already been done for you by Jesus.It is a difficult principle to accept that we are lost sinners, separated from God, with no hope of eternal life. We want to believe that we can do something ourselves to redeem our bad deeds. We all believe in second chances and we often give mercy to those who are in need of it.When it came to us and our sin, there was no second chance, no possibility of redemption. There was no good work that we could do to make ourselves acceptable to God. Our sins had separated us from God and all of us were on our way to eternal separation from God.
