Bible Study: Philippians 2

Shall we turn in our Bibles now to Philippians, chapter two, as we continue our journey through the Bible. This week we�ve arrived at Philippians, chapter two.Paul begins the chapter by exhorting them to unity and to meekness.He said, If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels (tenderness) and mercies, (Then) 2Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. If you are really walking after Jesus Christ, if you have that consolation, that hope in Christ, if you have the comfort of His love, if you have fellowship in the Spirit, then get along with each other. Don�t be striving against those within the body of Christ.This is, I believe, such a needed exhortation for this day! When it seems like there is so much feeling of competition within the church, there are so many who are divided and who seek to divide over trivial issues, minor differences of interpretation of Scripture. The sad thing is that they don�t allow for a differing view than their own. Someone has once defined a heretic as someone who believes differently from you. And that�s usually the way we sort of define it. And thus, if you don�t see it exactly the way I see it, you are a heretic of the first or second order, you know. And that�s tragic!
